A nostalgic, semi-autobiographical tale, following Salvador Mallo, a film director in decline as he explores a series of experiences and encounters from his past. Facing his mortality, he recalls his childhood in ‘60s Valencia, his first love affair in ‘80s Madrid, the pain of heartbreak and his fateful early discovery of cinema. A typically witty, sensuous, evocative and intelligent film from Pedro Almodóvar, it is intensely personal and beautifully produced.
