SUMMARY:KW Casserole Evening
DESCRIPTION:Casserole Evening\nSponsor: Swan Brewery\nOur Spring Festival this year will include a casserole evening provided by David & Helen Pickersgill of Weobley Ash. There will be a lamb or vegetable casserole and a  bar with beer from the Swan Brewery\, as well as home made desserts. It’s a great opportunity to meet other walkers\, walk leaders and organisers. Book your tickets soon\, as the Tagine eveing sold out at our last Autumn Festival \nDavid is famous locally for the quality of his lamb\, hogget and mutton\, but not everyone is aware that he is also an excellent cook. Come along and taste for yourself. \nThanks also go the Swan Brewery for sponsoring the evening\, and congratulations to them for winning the 2018 Best Brewer award at the recent Hereford Times Food and Drink Awards. \nFor those visitors or locals attending the evening\, Kington's little gem of a museum will be open from 5 pm until 8.30 pm very close to the casserole venue. Free admission\, but donations much appreciated\, our volunteers will be happy to welcome all those who would like to know more about the town\, its history and some of the people who contributed to placing Kington on the map. \n

SUMMARY:Talk- Huntington Village Hall
DESCRIPTION:HUNTINGTON VILLAGE HALL\nKington Then And Now\n\n\n\n\n\nDave Latham will present photographs of Kington and its environs from the early days of photography - as far back as the late 19th century - to the present day. These will show Kington’s people\, industries\, organisations\, public houses\, markets\, events\, road and rail transport\, shops\, schools and celebrations. \nDave's commentaries\, observations and insights are gleaned from an eclectic mix of historical research by Allan Lloyd\, from interviews\, conversations and time-honoured folklore. Dave is a passionate photographer and the talk will include a selection of his own photographs taken over the last forty years that capture the spirit of a community in which he has lived\, worked\, served and raised a family. \nThere will be something for everyone in Dave's talk - whether you want an entertaining exploration into this much loved historic town\, an evocation of what makes it so special or just a trip down memory lane. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday 13 April at 7.30 pm\nFollowed by a free party  with wine and canapés \nDetails see website below\nhttps://www.huntingtonchurch.co.uk/2019-events
