SUMMARY:Kington Walks
DESCRIPTION:Nestled below Hergest Ridge\, the historic drovers' town of Kington stands alone from a walking perspective\, with more long-distance paths converging on the town than almost anywhere else in the UK. \nThe hard working committee has put together an exciting and varied programme of over 30 walks for 2019 to include some walk repeats from previous festivals as well as some brand new ones. Since its inception in 2011 the Walking Festival has gone from strength to strength and this year  promises again to bring a range of walks and events to suit all tastes. \nAlthough most participants came from the Midlands area\, visitors from as far as Surrey\, Glamorgan\, Yorkshire and Scotland also took part and enjoyed themselves. Many of the walks sold out in 2018\, some quite quickly\, so remember to book early if you can for 2019. \nThe programme will be out in May.

DESCRIPTION:Jane Keay\, a well known local artist who exhibits in the Made in the Marches Gallery is the tutor of the Kington club\n\n\nThe classes take place on Thursday afternoons from 2-4pm at the Marches Gallery in Church Street.\n\n\nEach term\, Spring\, Summer and Autumn\, lasts ten weeks.\n\n\nThe cost per term is £130.00\n\n\nThe classes are for beginners and experienced painters\n\n\nThe Autumn term starts on Thursday 19th September\n\n\nThe classes are not prescriptive and everyone learn to paint or draw in whatever medium they like and whatever subject they like.\n\n\nTutorials on the elements of picture making such as composition\, perspective\, tone etc are given every week and members receive a file when they join into which they can store the hard copy for reference.\n\n\nTwice a term Jane delivers a tutorial called The Story Behind the Painting in which the group looks at a particular work of art in detail\, discovers what the artist's life was like and the historical context of the painting in order to get a deeper appreciation of a work of art.\n\n\n Members get a 10% discount card for local art suppliers.\n\n\n Members can make up any classes they may miss by going to any of the other clubs at any time\, including rolling over a session to the following term if necessary to ensure they always get the number of classes they have paid for.\n\n\n All the details can be found on the website - www.villageartclubs.co.uk or anyone interested can phone Liz on 07938 563716 for more information.\n\n\n\n\n\nVillage Art Clubs 2019 – Art classes in Herefordshire\nEach two hour class costs £13.00 (£6.50 per hour) – £130.00 for a ten week term.
