DESCRIPTION:We look forward to welcoming you to our our popular ‘end of season’ student platform concert. This season we finish with the Alaw Saxophone Quartet\, recent winners of the Royal Welsh College’s woodwind ensemble prize.  For us\, they will be playing a fun mix – from arrangements of works by well-known composers such as Piazzola and Gershwin\, to pieces specially written for saxophone ensemble. Since its invention in the early 1840s\, the Saxophone has been used extensively in classical and band music\, and\, is valued for its rich vibrant tones. Tonight’s concert will feature the soprano\, alto\, tenor and baritone sax. \nOur student concerts are a great opportunity to catch promising young musicians on the brink of their collective careers. We are very pleased to be able to provide such a performance opportunity and we are proud of the relationship we have built up with the RWCMD since we started the student platforms in 2014. \nTickets £10  (under14s\, £3)\nAll performances start at 7.30pm - Doors open 7.00pm\nBox office 01544 350268\nWine and soft drinks on sale at the bar.\nThe Hall now has 50 upholstered chairs!
