DESCRIPTION:This Sunday: Another chance to get a taste of droving life!\nLast Sunday’s Heritage Day was so much fun\, and we had a great turnout in spite of the awful weather… However\, a lot of people hoping to attend the Drover’s Walk were deterred by the rain and mud\, so we thought - why not do it all again this Sunday! \n10am - Guided walk in the footsteps of the drovers (6 miles over moderate terrain\, approximately 3 hours\, free of charge) \nExpect fascinating history and gorgeous views as you take a walk back in time along key droving routes in and around Kington via Park Wood and Hergest Ridge - wear suitable walking shoes\, dress for the weather and bring water/a drink of choice. Meet Annie at The Oxford Arms at 10am\, returning to The Oxford for lunch around 1pm \n11am-4.30pm - Bar and café open\, serving traditional “drover’s bait” ploughman’s lunches (crusty bread\, generous wedges of Shropshire Blue and mature cheddar cheeses\, optional cooked ham\, pickles and salad - we HIGHLY recommend!). Plus homemade cream teas and cakes - who could resist?\nGF bread & cake options available 🙂 \nAll day - Film \nA virtual pub crawl round Kington's drover's pubs\, with some brilliant images thanks to the Kington Museum archives

DESCRIPTION:The Hymns\n\n\n\n\nIn a beautiful setting in the heart of the Radnor valley\, the garden is part of a restored C16 farmstead\, with long views to the hills\, and the Radnor Forest. It is a traditional garden reclaimed from the wild\, using locally grown plants and seeds\, and with a herb patio\, wildflower meadows and a short woodland walk. It is designed for all the senses: sight\, sound and smell. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSet just north of the Four Stones\, pre-historic standing stones\, there are mown walk ways to carefully placed garden benches\, and views to the hills and the ancient village of Old Radnor\, where Alfred Watkins evolved his thoughts of Ley-lines. The Hymns has inspired several artists\, the work of whom can sometimes be seen in the barn. It reflects the County motto : 'Powys Paradwys Cymru'\, 'Powys – the paradise of Wales'.
